Ray-traced voxel block lighting for Iris, in the style of Rethinking Voxels, built on top of IterationT 3.2.0 (a Chocapic13' Shaders edit).
IterationVX grafts a brand-new block lighting system onto IterationT: the world is voxelized in real time and every pixel traces rays toward nearby light sources — colored light, crisp shadows and reflections, all driven by the actual blocks around you.

✨ Features
- Colored light per block — glowstone, sea lanterns, soul fire, amethyst, froglights, candles, lava… each source emits its own color, auto-detected from the texture when not defined by hand.
- Ray-traced shadows — torches and lamps cast crisp shadows against the real blocks of the world (voxel volume 128×96×128 around the camera).
- Ray-traced specular reflections — lights reflect off polished surfaces with their own color, respecting shadows.
- Tint through translucents — light passing through stained glass gets tinted; underwater it turns bluish.
- No range artifacts — falloff follows IterationT's vanilla lighting profile exactly (normalized modulation), so there are no visible rings or cutoffs.
- Optimized — pixels with no block light trace nothing (near-zero cost outdoors); deterministic per-cell light lists.
- Distant Horizons compatible — far LOD terrain renders perfectly with the voxel system active.
- Everything else from IterationT untouched: sky, volumetric clouds, water, TAA, bloom, GI…
📋 Requirements
- Iris 1.6.1 or newer — OptiFine is NOT supported (the system uses compute shaders, 3D images and SSBOs).
- GPU with OpenGL 4.3 (modern NVIDIA / AMD / Intel).
- The Nether and the End keep IterationT's original lighting.
- ✅ Distant Horizons compatible (tested with the voxel system active).
⚙️ Settings
Shader Pack Settings → LIGHTING → VOXEL_LIGHT: master toggle, brightness, glass/water tint, specular reflections, ambient bounce, light size, and performance toggles.
VOXEL_DETAIL — 1 = per-block occlusion (airtight, recommended). 2–4 = experimental sub-block detail (stairs/slabs), may leak light in some scenes.
🗒️ Versions
All versions from v1.0 to v2.1 are available here, completely free. v2.1 is the recommended latest build (analytic half-block occlusion, deterministic light lists for many-light scenes, and a world-anchored voxel grid so shadows stay put while you walk).

Iluminación de bloques ray-traced por voxeles para Iris, al estilo de Rethinking Voxels, construida sobre IterationT 3.2.0 (una edición de Chocapic13' Shaders).
IterationVX le injerta a IterationT un sistema de iluminación de bloques completamente nuevo: el mundo se voxeliza en tiempo real y cada píxel traza rayos hacia las fuentes de luz cercanas — luz coloreada, sombras nítidas y reflejos, todo a partir de los bloques reales que te rodean.
✨ Características
- Luz coloreada por bloque — glowstone, sea lanterns, fuego de alma, amatista, froglights, velas, lava… cada fuente emite su propio color, detectado automáticamente de la textura si no está definido a mano.
- Sombras ray-traced — antorchas y lámparas proyectan sombras nítidas contra los bloques reales del mundo (volumen voxel 128×96×128 alrededor de la cámara).
- Reflejos especulares ray-traced — las luces se reflejan en superficies pulidas con su color, respetando las sombras.
- Tinte a través de translúcidos — la luz que atraviesa cristales tintados se tiñe; bajo el agua se vuelve azulada.
- Sin artefactos de alcance — el apagado sigue exactamente el perfil de luz vanilla de IterationT (modulación normalizada): sin anillos ni cortes visibles.
- Optimizado — los píxeles sin luz de bloque no trazan nada (coste ~cero en exteriores); listas de luces deterministas por celda.
- Compatible con Distant Horizons — el terreno LOD lejano se renderiza perfecto con el sistema voxel activo.
- Todo lo demás de IterationT intacto: cielo, nubes volumétricas, agua, TAA, bloom, GI…

⚙️ Configuración
Shader Pack Settings → LIGHTING → VOXEL_LIGHT: interruptor general, brillo, tinte de cristal/agua, reflejos especulares, rebote ambiental, tamaño de fuente y ajustes de rendimiento.
VOXEL_DETAIL — 1 = oclusión por bloque (hermética, recomendada). 2–4 = detalle sub-bloque experimental (escaleras/losas), puede fugar luz en algunas escenas.
🗒️ Versiones
Todas las versiones, de la v1.0 a la v2.1, están disponibles aquí, totalmente gratis. La v2.1 es la última recomendada (oclusión analítica de medio bloque, listas de luces deterministas para escenas con muchas luces, y retícula voxel anclada al mundo para que las sombras no cambien al caminar).
